At EcoWeb, we choose to use only virgin HDPE/PP resins—never recycled content. This is not simply a preference; it is a commitment to project performance and manufacturing excellence.
Why virgin material?
Recycled polymers may contain hidden contaminants—metal fragments, sharp particles, or degraded compounds. These impurities not only compromise the mechanical properties of the finished geocell, but they also damage production equipment, such as extrusion rollers and texturing cylinders, leading to surface defects and inconsistent weld quality.
We have tested samples from other suppliers. In our internal strength tests, the peeling strength values fell well below acceptable standards, and surface damage was clearly visible—clear evidence of recycled content and poor process control.
