What Are EcoWeb Geocells and How Do They Work?

When a vehicle drives over soft ground, the soil sinks under the wheels and bulges up on both sides. Over time, the ruts deepen and the ridges rise until movement becomes impossible. This happens because loose soil lacks lateral restraint—it simply pushes sideways when loaded.

EcoWeb geocells solve this problem through three-dimensional cellular confinement. Made from high-strength HDPE or PP strips welded into a honeycomb network, they are shipped folded flat and expanded on-site. Once filled with soil, aggregate, or concrete, the cells create a rigid composite structure that confines the infill material, prevents lateral spreading, and distributes loads over a much wider area. The result: significantly improved bearing capacity and reduced settlement, even on weak subgrades.

Key Features

Compact and expandable – folds for easy transport, expands quickly at the job site.

Durable and chemical-resistant – resists UV, aging, and many soil conditions.

Strong lateral confinement – stabilizes infill, reduces deformation, and enhances load distribution.

Versatile – suitable for foundation reinforcement, slope protection, retaining walls, embankments, and shoreline erosion control.

Customization to Fit Your Project

Every site has unique demands. EcoWeb geocells can be tailored to your exact needs:

Cell height – choose the depth required for your load-bearing targets.

Weld spacing – adjust pocket size to match infill materials and stress conditions.

Color – select from available options for identification or aesthetic purposes.

Our team is ready to help you define the optimal specifications for your application. Whether you are building roads, stabilising slopes, or protecting waterways, EcoWeb geocells deliver reliable performance—with the flexibility you need.
